Built by a Coach, for Coaches
CompeteHQ was born on the diamond — from a volunteer coach who realized he was spending more time planning practice than actually running it.
The Story
Like many youth baseball coaches, I didn't sign up because I had a coaching background. I stepped up because nobody else would — and because I love helping kids grow.
But I quickly learned something every volunteer coach discovers: planning good practices takes forever. I talked to other coaches, assistants, and parents, and they all said the same thing — time was the biggest barrier to stepping up and coaching.
Boy, were they right. I found myself putting more time into planning practice than we actually spent doing practice. And if I came unprepared? I wouldn't be giving the boys the kind of practice they deserved from their coach.
So I started using spreadsheets. They worked — sort of. But I'd still find myself explaining to every assistant what we were working on and how to do things. The plan was in my head, not in their hands.
That's when the idea for CompeteHQ hit me. I wanted to create an easy way for coaches to plan high-quality practices while easily communicating them to their assistants — so everyone shows up on the same page and the kids get the practice they deserve.
“Empower every youth baseball coach to run efficient, professional practices that develop better players — regardless of their coaching experience.”
What We Believe
Every Kid Deserves a Great Practice
Whether a coach has 20 years of experience or just volunteered last week, their players deserve organized, purposeful practice time.
Coaching Should Be Fun, Not Stressful
Planning shouldn't take longer than practice itself. We build tools that give coaches their time back so they can focus on what matters — the kids.
Built for Real Coaches
We're not a tech company that happens to make coaching tools. We're coaches who happen to build software. Everything we build comes from real experience on the field.
